Mixture-Tuned Matched Filtering (MTMF)¶
Mixture-Tuned Matched Filtering (MTMF) is a spectral unmixing technique that determines the relative abundance of a target mineral within a pixel, without requiring the identification of other substances present in the mix.
In TerraEye, MTMF layers are calculated from multispectral and hyperspectral satellite data. Values closer to 1 indicate a greater relative abundance of the target mineral. Values below 0.2 are displayed as transparent.
How to Use the Mixture-Tuned Matched Filtering (MTMF) Layer?¶
- Go to the Data tab, expand Mineral Prospecting - MTMF, and click Add layer next to the mineral you want to analyze.
- Use the sliders to adjust the value range. The closer the value to 1, the greater the relative abundance of the mineral. Values below 0.2 are displayed as transparent.
- Customize the layer appearance by changing its color or switching to gradient mode in the layer properties.
