Mixture-Tuned Matched Filtering (MTMF)

Mixture-Tuned Matched Filtering (MTMF) is a spectral unmixing technique that determines the relative abundance of a target mineral within a pixel, without requiring the identification of other substances present in the mix.

In TerraEye, MTMF layers are calculated from multispectral and hyperspectral satellite data. Values closer to 1 indicate a greater relative abundance of the target mineral. Values below 0.2 are displayed as transparent.

How to Use the Mixture-Tuned Matched Filtering (MTMF) Layer?

  1. Go to the Data tab, expand Mineral Prospecting - MTMF, and click Add layer next to the mineral you want to analyze.
  2. Use the sliders to adjust the value range. The closer the value to 1, the greater the relative abundance of the mineral. Values below 0.2 are displayed as transparent.
  3. Customize the layer appearance by changing its color or switching to gradient mode in the layer properties.
